You should consider the color of your furniture in the room you are painting when considering the color you want to paint it. Having a bright color on your walls may seem like a good idea at first, but it can often become too overpowering for the room so you should consider what it will look like when you get it on the walls.

You should also consider what the color will look like when you put multiple coats on your walls. Some colors seem like that will be more dull while you are looking at them in the store, but when you paint an entire room with three coats of paint the color can look darker and more intense. You can ask the store attendant for advice when selecting your color and look through magazines to get an idea of how large rooms look painted.
