Shedua Turning Blank, 2´´ x 2´´ x 12´´
|Shedua goes by a number of alternate names, including Ovangkol, Amazique and Mozambique, depending on what application the wood is used for. However, these are all names for the same African species: Guibourtia ehie. Shedua has a pleasing warm brown tone with darker brown to black striped grain and pale yellow sapwood. Texture is medium to coarse with moderate luster. Shedua is roughly the same as white oak in hardness, is quite easy to work, and turns, glues and finishes nicely.
