Step by Step Guide on How to Use a Motorized Tiller
by Guest Post on Jul 31, 2017
There are a lot of people out there who have purchased a tiller recently and are finding it quite challenging to use the machine. Well, unlike the traditional methods of gardening, using a motorized tiller reduces the amount of energy and time that you need to put in to decorate or remake your garden. The entire process is quite easy, and can be explained in the following simple steps:
-
Unpacking the Product
This seems to be the most obvious step, to begin with, but there are a lot many factors to take into consideration while unpacking the package in which the tiller comes. As many of you may already know, the handling of the product that you order from online websites is a concern, especially when it comes to machines. Therefore, it is important to check for any damages in the body of the tiller like bending of the parts, etc.
-
Going Through the Instruction Manual
There are a few brave explorers who simply skip this step, and decide to build the entire thing on their own. The problem in this journey of adventure is that, if at any point something goes wrong, then there is a chance you might not know how to proceed further. This is not the only case that is possible, because sometimes, users assemble the entire machine, but in the end, some parts remain. At this point, after the assembly of the machine is done, it would be quite hard to disassemble the entire structure again for adding one important piece. Therefore, it is quite essential to follow the instructions provided in the manual. Also, there are other documents that you must check along with the manual, i.e. warranty card, etc.
-
Assembling the Tiller
Now, after you are clear with the instructions, and know-how to proceed further, you may start assembling the parts of the tiller. In most cases, the blade and the engine/motor compartment come as one single unit. The rest of the parts, such as the handle, power cord, wheels, etc. have to be attached by the user. During this step, different types of tillers call for different techniques. For example, the type of tillers that come with foldable handles are a bit more complicated than a simple type of tillers. These different types of tillers, and their reviews at TillerAdvisor.com, and many other such websites.
-
First Run of Your Tiller
Now, we are quite done with the theoretical part, and it's time to check the performance of the tiller. After making sure that you have assembled the machine properly, connect it to a power source, i.e. electricity in the case of electric tillers, etc. The very first run of your tiller will tell you quite a lot about its performance and durability.
-
Checking for Performance Issues and Defects
Even though users hardly face any design defects or performance issues, there might be exceptions. Now, suppose if you find a particular defect in the functioning of the tiller, then you have the option of availing your warranty if it is a manufacturing defect. In such cases, it is important to take action as early as possible.
-
Maintenance
Well, like in the case of every modern machinery, tillers also have to undergo maintenance from time to time. But the amount of maintenance required in each tiller depends on the type of tiller that you are using. For example, in the case of tillers that work on fuel, regular maintenance is required. On the other hand, in the case of electric tillers, very little maintenance is required. Also, make sure to have a good supply of spare parts and fuel additives like oil mix, etc. depending on the type of tiller that you are using.
